BEGINNER BASS FISHING FAQs
There are easy and affordable ways for anyone, especially beginners, to start bass fishing. Start Simple. Fishing with easy fishing rigs is the best place to start. Something as simple as a hook and a worm can catch a bass. It helps to be familiar with the area you are fishing – one way to do that is to continue fishing in the same area until you feel comfortable.

It is important to know what’s in the water where you are fishing. Are there weeds, rocks, logs or nothing at all? Bass relate to structure in the water. When fishing from the bank, focus on these areas.
Docks, logs, boulders, even bushes are the features you want to focus on. Fishing around these will greatly increase your chances of catching bass.
The best times of year to catch bass are Spring and Fall. The bass are feeding heavily during these seasons. The spawn in Spring makes fish extra aggressive and easier to catch. In the fall, bass are feeding more as they get ready for winter.
The best times of day for beginners to catch bass are morning and evening. Just as the sun is coming up bass are often feeding near the bank. They repeat this behavior just before the sun goes down.
