When Do the Bluegill Come Back to Shallow Water? Early Spring Fishing
In the first video this week: Do you know when the bluegill usually return to shallow waters? It can be pretty frustrating to fish early in the spring because although the water temperature is rising, there aren’t many fish around. In this episode, I scouted three different areas before finally landing my first bluegill. Once I found them, I caught several more in the same spot. To increase my chances, I’m using a simple fishing rig with just a float and worm. I’m targeting shallow water at usually three feet or less, as it warms up faster than deeper waters. This makes it an attractive spot for fish who are looking for food.
But to answer the question of when the bluegill will arrive in shallow water, it’s really up to them and whenever they feel like it.

WORM + EGG = The Best Trout Fishing Bait? Fishing With Worms and Eggs
In the second episode this week: Have you ever tried combining a worm and an egg to make the ultimate trout bait? That’s what I’m experimenting with today in a flooded creek. I start things off with just a worm and I manage to catch one fish. But when I add an egg to the mix, my luck turns around and I end up catching three more! The EggWorm is a brilliant combination of two baits that the trout really seem to love. It looks like a Mice Tails bait with a ball on one end and a tail on the other, and the red worm’s flavor makes it hard for the trout to resist. Today, I managed to catch four nice trout in a short amount of time and had a blast doing it. If you have both worms and eggs, give the EggWorm a try and see how it works for you.
